Project Description

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, THE BOATHOUSE

Follow the gravel road that runs through the courtyard down to the large post and beam pergola with its sweeping views of the lake then along the ravine past the towering walls of the Bench to the lake front. There in the middle of 420 feet of pristine and private waterfront sits the boathouse.

The remnants of a 1950’s boathouse storage shed were grandfathered and given permission to be renovated. The result is a charming little cottage perched on the water’s edge and pressed up against a massive boulder left as a reminder of the last Ice Age. Up above is a lounge area filled with windows soft seating a dining table and kitchenette with fridge and freezer. Below with a door onto the beach is a the storage area for paddle boards and kayaks.

Power was brought to the building and a permitted washroom was added. Connected to the boathouse is the dock that extends for 100 feet out into the lake. All improvements were licensed and permitted making this one of the very few facilities of its kind anywhere on Lake Okanagan.
